License to Sell

just a quick text update..
another good news for me before the year ends is that yesterday i've already completed the verification process of ebay, and now i can already use the selling function of my account there..
i'm not yet sure if i'll be good at it, but i hope it'll be helpful in getting rid of some stuff which i don't find useful or those which i think deserve a better home...

anyway, the reason why i was not able to complete the verification process before is that there seem to be a problem with Globe..
an ebay personnel told me that for some reason their system can't or tend to fail in sending the SMS-based verification codes through Globe mobile numbers, and suggested me to use a number from a different network..
so i used a Smart cellphone number..
and that's it...^_^

December 2012 Update - The Vintage Collection Wave 16

finally done with the low quality photoshoot..
so this is my good news before the end of 2012..
i got myself a Vintage Collection Wave 16, consisting of 12 action figures - my most expensive transaction for the year..
i already added 8 units to my official collection..
and the remaining 4, well i'm planning to sell them but unfortunately i still can't use the selling feature on ebay coz for some reason i just can't complete the registration process using my mobile number...

REBEL ALLIANCE:

Republic Trooper..
this particular armor design was that of the Havoc Squad...

although the action figure wasn't named after Jace Malcolm, it's armor and head sculpt looks exactly like him, thus this figure can already play his role..
it seems to me that this armor design (particularly the helmet and the color scheme) is based on Commander Cody of the Clone Troopers..
this particular sculpt has a noticeably small head compared to other figures..
but a good thing about it is that you can also turn it into an ordinary Havoc Trooper by removing the bandolier..
i'll be assigning this unit together with the rebels, and i think they'll look great battling against the Imperial Troopers...

here's a comparative view of Commander Thire (a Phase II-based Clone Trooper armor) and the Republic Trooper..
not much difference in terms of size (height), except for the helmet - the Republic Trooper's helmet is a bit smaller..
i would like to do the comparison with Commander Cody so we can see the resemblance, but unfortunately i still don't have that unit coz i can't find any copy on the local ebay...

ROYAL GUARD:

Emperor's Royal Guard..
the Royal Guards are Emperor Palpatine's elite security force..
they are respected and feared throughout the galaxy for their elegant and deadly fighting skills..
candidates are chosen from the ranks of the Imperial squads and are trained on the barren world of Yinchorr..
they work hard to master the lessons being taught to them, for their very lives are at stake..
the basic royal guard usually wear red themed masks and robes, while some special units may wear a black themed outfit or a combination of black and red...

like the Republic Trooper, this one is also an interesting figure..
aside from being a Royal Guard, an alternate helmet and accessories are available so you can convert it to Crucible attire..
actually its head sculpt looks somewhat similar to a unit featured in the Legacy Collection's Crimson Empire (Crucible Arena) set, but this action figure was not named after him...

here's a comparative view of a Senate Guard and the Royal Guard...

JEDI ORDER:

Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jedi Knight version)..
this armor is based on the animated series, but was provided with a non-animated head sculpt...

i really like that Jedi emblem on his left shoulder armor - makes him look more legitimate as a Jedi..
and i prefer this armor compared to his Clone Trooper Phase I-based armor..
he is my third and probably the last Obi-Wan figure that i'll ever need..
here are related articles to Obi-Wan: Jedi General version and Old version...

here's a comparative view of the Jedi General version and the Jedi Knight version..
the Jedi Knight's armor has dirt on it and the color is more of cream already and it's lightsaber is a darker shade of blue compared to the Jedi General version..
and in the picture below, i equipped it with the Jedi General's big Clone Trooper helmet...

Ahsoka Tano..
a female Togruta from the planet of Shili..
a Jedi padawan assigned under Jedi Master Anakin Skywalker..
she is nicknamed 'Snips' by her master..
an interesting aspect about her is that she wields two lightsabers - one with the usual length and a shorter blade called a shoto...

like Obi-Wan Kenobi's Jedi Knight version, she's also a crossover figure from the animated series..
she's my very first Jedi padawan unit (i mean every Jedi started out as being padawans, but there are some like her who never made it to being full pledged Jedi or Jedi Master)...

NEUTRAL GROUNDS:

Aurra Sing..
she looks like she's near-human, but is actually an unknown hybrid from the planet of Nar Shaddaa..
also known as Nashtah..
she's a bounty hunter specializing in Jedi and political assassinations, once a Jedi padawan under An'ya Kuro or Dark Woman..
she has worked as a commander in the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars and has also served as an imperial agent under Darth Vader..
she has an antenna implant and a Rhen-Orm biocomputer on her head...

due to multiple affiliations i'd put her under neutral grounds, serving as bounty hunter to anyone who would ask for her service except for the Jedi Order...

NABOO:

Naboo Pilot..

this figure has an interesting headgear, particularly the helmet with the goggles up in the cap..
i noticed that the glasses of the goggles was made transparent, but the cap underneath it is still painted with red - excellent effect...

TATOOINE:

Weequay..
a skiff guard working for Jabba the Hutt...

EWOKS:

Lumat..
an Ewok..
he is the chief woodcutter of his tribe..
husband of Zephee and father to Latara, Nippet and Wiley...

LIGHTSABER COLLECTION:

and just an update to my lightsaber collection..
i included Jarael's staff coz it has a lightsaber look, not to mention the fact that i like Jarael a lot..
this is as of December 2012...

New Orders 04

to some December 21, 2012 means the end of humanity or the entire planet..
but for me, today is a HAPPY day...

i just received my package early this day..
it was delivered by LBC..
according to the toy store where i bought them, it's the last set available..
and i'm just very happy i was able to get a copy..
it's a very nice holiday present for myself..
it feels so fulfilling to have something which you really want...

it gave me a hard time to decide..
considering the fact that i still can't open a store on ebay..
i had to purchase an entire set with figures that i don't think i'll ever need..
so that means i have to dispose of them soon..
also means that i'll need to do adjustments on my record in the future..
for now, every unit is taken into account, as well as the total cost..
so if ever i manage to sell my disposables, then there'll have to be some deductions in my record...

anyway..
what's really important is that i finally acquired 3 major targets..
that means i also managed to lessen the number of my Star Wars WishList..

i'll just post the newcomers' photos when i get done with the photoshoot..
so until then...^_^

Wanted: Local Toystore(s) !!

damn..
i really find it hard to collect Star Wars action figures here in my area in the Philippines..
there's no decent toystore anywhere nearby, so all i can do is get my orders from other cities and have them delivered to my location..
the postage and the cost of transportation are almost the same, so i just let the couriers handle the delivery instead of picking them up by myself just so i can save time for other stuff - but the drawback is there's a possibility of losing your item in the process...

i used to order rare units from the US..
another reason aside from being 'rare' is that it's cheaper to get items there..
you just have to budget things properly, get a decent quantity of units, and they'll still end up cheap even if you add the international postage to your total cost..
but the local Customs has become more strict lately, and they seem to be putting more taxes and fees on imported goods..
as if they're actually doubling the amount that you have to pay..
and i think it's very unfair..
coz you work hard just so you can collect stuff which are not available in your country..
and the government is just making it harder for you..
can't they lessen the tax for packages that are non-commercial in quantity?
can't they get rid of the tax that they charge for the shipment of those packages?

it's not that we don't have any toystore in our province..
we have Toys R Us and Toy Kingdom in our local malls, but after the Star Wars 30th Anniversary line, they already stopped putting Star Wars action figures on their display..
it seems that there aren't enough buyers/collectors in this part of the country, so it's not practical to sell them here...

there are bigger malls in nearby cities..
but i find it impractical to travel and check on them one by one, and (most probably) just find out that they're doing the same thing like the toystores in my area...

it's a lot easier to find online sellers..
but they seem to take advantage of the situation..
usually, the more popular toystores would treat everything like they're just 'toys' in general, and would sell units around Php 500 which i think is just fair (though it's actually more expensive compared to western countries)..
but in the hands of local collectors/sellers, they tend to put 20% more for ordinary figures, and 60% or even higher than 100% for popular units..
another problem now is they tend to sell action figures as a set and not separately..
maybe it's because each wave is not entirely composed of likable characters, some may be very popular and the rest are just 'add-ons' to complete an entire set, so they find it hard to sell or dispose off the less popular characters...

for readers from the Philippines,
if ever you know of good toystores (anywhere near Metro Manila) that sells non-animated Star Wars action figures by Hasbro, kindly post a comment here..
i desperately need a Republic Trooper and an Emperor's Royal Guard...T,T

November 2012 Update - Bounty Hunters

Air21 only took more than a day to deliver this new package..
but this time, the text advisory was once again missing..
i'm not sure, but they have a tendency of being inconsistent in this aspect - sometimes they'll send you SMS alert and sometimes they won't...

anyway, here's the update:

MANDALORIANS:

Mandalore the Indomitable..
his title is translated as Te Kandosii Mand'alor in Mando'a..
a Taung who grew up in his adopted homeworld of Kuar..
he served as the warlord of the Mandalorian clans prior and during the Great Sith War..
he is a Mandalorian crusader who allied his group with Exar Kun's Brotherhood of the Sith...

i bought a loose copy without a cape..
i thought it'd be better to just buy this unit instead of buying the whole Fett Legacy set, so i can avoid having a duplicate for Jango Fett (although i still need a copy with the complete Mandalorian armor) and a Boba Fett which i'm not really looking forward to have..
i guess i'll just leave Mandalore like this, or maybe make an improvised cape...

Shae Vizla..
she's an excellent Mandalorian who works for money with little care about her clients' goal or interest..
her brother was killed by Jedi Master Aurei Eadon thus resulting to her hatred towards Jedis..
a bounty hunter who works for Darth Malgus..
her helmet is distinct for it doesn't have the traditional Mandalorian t-shaped visor...

she's my very first female antagonist and the very first female Mandalorian in my collection..
i immediately bid for her once i saw the auction on ebay..
i managed to buy her for a very cheap price, less than half of her usual price that you will see on local ebay stores and/or sellers..
a very great deal for a character that has just made a debut...

about her current sculpt..
well, it's not very attractive, kinda sexy but not enough..
the same goes for her face, she looks fierce so her real beauty is concealed..
she is supposed to be a redhead femme-fatale, and a bounty hunter goddess..
there are some bust and full-size statues of her which actually looks good - better than her current action figure state..
and her 3D render in the cinematics for The Old Republic computer game is very HOT..
it's too much to hope for, but i wish Hasbro can recreate her in the future and come up with a more suitable version..
i'm also thinking that instead of using interchangeable heads, they may use a head sculpt with a removable hair that can be replaced with a removable helmet..
so for now, i think i'll just use her helmeted version...

my current Mandalorian collection..
known in Mando'a (which is the primary Mandalorian language) as the Mando-ade or the "Children of Mandalore", are nomadic group of clan-based people consisting of members from multiple species and multiple genders, and are bound by a common culture..
their race is considered as being among the best warriors and mercenaries across the galaxy...

some famous bounty hunters are coming soon..
and Air21 will once again take care of the delivery..
they did a great job last week, so i hope they can continue with their reliable service...

October & November 2012 Update - Army Builder

so yesterday my second batch of orders from the local ebay finally arrived..
like i said in my previous text update, it was handled by Air21..
now i know that they don't deliver on a day-to-day basis, but operates according to a certain schedule..
actually the second batch is still composed of two different packages from a single seller and were sent on two consecutive days, but due to the scheduled delivery of the courier both packages were delivered to me at the same time..
the good thing is that they may not be very quick in terms of delivery, but they are organized..
in addition, the text update from their company is once again available...

now here's the actual update for my collection..
the first batch:

JEDI ORDER:

Obi-Wan Kenobi (Jedi General version)..
this is the Jedi Master during the time of the Clone Wars..
click here for a related entry...

this version goes with a full Clone Trooper Phase I armor mixed with some Jedi cape/clothing and equipment that makes him look like a medieval knight...

IMPERIAL TROOPERS:

ARC Trooper Commander (Red variant)..

actually the color coded ranking of ARC Troopers as well as other military forces is as follows: yellow for commander, red for captain, blue for lieutenant, and green sergeant..
so i'm still confused why this one is denoted as a commander...

Clone Trooper (Heavy Gunner) (Clone Trooper Squad version)..
they are armed with reciprocating quad blaster also called by names such as cip quad and heavy quad cannon...

i only realized recently that their armor is almost similar to the basic AT-RT Driver's armor..
you can view some AT-RT Driver design here..
the major differences are: the helmet's antenna or optical instrument (in it's case) being on the right side instead of the left, the paint pattern, the backpack, and the belt and kama...

Clone Scuba Trooper (Clone Trooper Squad Version)..
this form of imperial trooper is deployed in aquatic environments or planets, the most common being the planet of Dac or Mon Calamari...

and the second batch:

GUNGAN:

Gungan Warrior..
this version of Gungan warrior goes with a cesta (the long staff-like weapon) and a farseein which serves like a huge binocular for them...

IMPERIAL TROOPER:

Shock Trooper (Movie Heroes version)..
also known as Coruscant Guards, they serve as the private army and bodyguards of Emperor Palpatine..
they serve the emperor under the leadership of Commander Thire...

this one has a quick-draw feature for the right arm, which is done by pressing the right leg or specifically the thigh inward..
this is also my very first imperial trooper that goes with a black DC-15 blaster rifle with a shoulder stock painted with brown...

DROID ARMY:

Destroyer Droid..
also known as Droideka which is a compound word composed of the basic term 'droid' and the Colicoid suffix 'eka' meaning 'hireling' or 'drone'..
considered the strongest among the basic droid infantry units, they are armed with powerful weapons and are also capable of deploying force-like, semi-transparent shields..
in addition, they can also round themselves up like a wheel for faster movement...

this type has a firing-projectile feature for both arms, which is done by pressing the rear end of the missile-like red projectiles downward...

and after these recent transactions, i was able to reduce my Estimated Rate per unit from 460.45 to 452.80 Php..
plus i also got a new storage box which is the Clone Trooper Squad (Legacy Collection) packaging..
Great Deal...^_^

New Orders 02

because of the holidays, it took some time before my second batch of orders was dispatched..
Air21 is handling it right now...

as for the first batch..
it was delivered to me by LBC last October 31 and took only less than 24 hours (less than 18 hours) to complete..
they seem to be efficient provided that there are no error/s with the shipping address provided to them...

i'll work on the photoshoot as soon as the second batch arrives...

New Orders 01

just text...

as soon as i saw the latest sculpts from the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con, i thought of saving money as early as July so i'd be able to acquire my new targets while they are still fresh in the market..
my main targets are from The Vintage Collection (TVC), namely (and according to priority):
1) Republic Trooper
2) Obi-Wan Kenobi
3) Emperor's Royal Guard
4) Gungan Warrior

but i ruined my own plan as soon as i spotted some other (older) targets through ebay just recently..
i saw both loose and mint figures..
and their prices are very tempting..
and being an impulsive Star Wars action figure collector - i immediately commited myself into buying 7 units..
7 items for the average price of Php 350.00 plus per unit..
from time to time i'll need great deals like this to lower my Estimated Rate per action figure..

considering the average pricing of the latest TVC wave worldwide, the match-up would be 4 new sculpts to 7..
so i finally decided to get more figures for a lower price instead of spending more money just to get the latest..
a good news is, out of those 7, one item is a loose Gungan Warrior from the TVC line, so still i'd be able to cross out one of my primary targets...

as of now, 4 units are already on their way, shipped through LBC (so again, i'll need extreme luck for this transaction)..
and the other 3 are to follow...

Rebelscum's Approval

here's a little text update for today..

i made a mistake when i decided to post some copyrighted images in my blog without asking for permission, particularly on my WishList page..
i have always been a fan of Rebelscum's Star Wars Photo Archive ever since i found out about it..
it has always been helpful for me in evaluating and determining what particular Star Wars 3 & 3/4 inch action figure should i buy and also in keeping track of what accessories goes with a certain unit..
i find it very useful because they provide there high quality and professional photos that go with useful product information especially the review of the points of articulation..
it's important to me so i can distinguish what particular units are more durable in terms of design, what are more poseable, and what i can use in my diorama project...

even though i'm a regular visitor of that site, it's a shame to say that i only noticed their Image Use Policy just recently..
when i started to build this blog, i thought it's already okay to just provide a banner link and accreditation in exchange for the use of copyrighted materials..
so after i read that, i felt guilty, and although a bit hesitant and worried that i may not get their approval i still decided to e-mail them..
in the e-mail, i told them what i did wrong, the purpose of my blog, together with my request..
and just a few days ago, i already got their approval and permission to use some of the images from their website here in my blog: WishList Page ^_^

and so i am very thankful for the Rebelscum staff for their kind consideration..
it really means a lot to me...

August 2012 Update - Imperial Trooper & Furniture Accessories

now here are the content of my latest package from a trusted local ebayer/seller..
the package was delivered by JRS Express, it's the third time for me and i'm glad that they haven't let me down yet, unlike the others..
their shipping charge is still considerate, handling is great as usual, and their next day delivery is faster compared to other courier service provider...

IMPERIAL TROOPER:

442nd Siege Battalion..
they are clone troopers assigned to capture the planet of Cato Neimoidia, home to the Neimoidians who are key members of the separatist group...

so far this is my most favorite design for a basic imperial trooper..
the green theme gives it that military-look..
this is my very first 2nd Generation Clone Trooper (with basic armor design) that has no removable helmet feature..
it is still fine though, but i do hope that Hasbro could someday release versions with a removable helmet and an officer version with pauldron..
so this is another unit that i have just taken out from my Wishlist Page..
YES!!

sad to say that i only managed to buy one Star Wars action figure this time..
but here are the other items that i purchased..
these are 3.75 inch scale furniture accessories manufactured by M&C Toy Centre Ltd., they're made of a certain durable plastic material..
i thought i could use them in my diorama project particularly for the rebels, since i'm planning to make their equipment look less high tech..
they can also serve as good reference in designing my matchstick furniture...

barrier..

with working hinge to adjust the angle or orientation..

separate barrier standing with a clone trooper action figure for size comparison...

folding chair..
beside it is a matchstick chair (model 01) for comparative view..
my design is slightly smaller..

i told you, it's a folding chair..

with Aayla Secura figure seated...

table..

with a folding chair and an action figure for size comparison...

locker..

it has a working hinged-door and a couple of dividers inside..
a clone trooper helmet can be stored inside one of those compartments..
here, it stands with a clone trooper action figure for size comparison...

Gurney stretcher..
foldable for easy storage or when it has to be lifted...

it has an adjustable bedding..
it also features foldable wheeled-legs for easier transport..

with action figures for size comparison...

bunk bed with mattresses..

Jarael and Aayla Secura standing around the bed for size comparison..
they'll be sharing the bed together while i still don't have my hands on a Shaak Ti (TFU) figure..>,<
tsk, i forgot to take a picture with a figure lying down on it...

the mattresses, made of a certain type of rubber material somewhat similar to that used in making slippers...

Non-Star Wars - Yugi Oh! & Airsoft Gun

my Yugi Oh! cards collection..
that paper bag has a sentimental value for me...^_^

here, i pulled them out from the paper bag..
most of the cards are kept inside those 2 white custom made boxes..
currently, i have:

  • 415 Monster Cards
  • 138 Magic Cards
  • 111 Trap Cards
  • 50 Fusion + Ceremony Monster Cards
  • 17 Cartoon Monster Cards + Magic Card Duplicates

so i have a total of 731 cards, plus several duplicates...

this is an Airsoft Gun given to me by my one and only godfather..
we're a family of Mafia, LOL, just kidding..
it's a gift for a certain occasion which i can no longer recall, but it's probably way back in my college years (8 or less years ago)..
it's a bit old now but still fully functional...

and a little Star Wars and Non-Star Wars update..
i just committed myself into an Ebay auction..
the items are very pricey..
crap! i'm being an impulsive buyer again...>,<

Non-Star Wars - Cars

cars as in literal cars, not the 3D movie..
but smaller in scale..

this one is my very first and my one and only RC (remote-controlled) car..
i wanted to buy an RC when i was still in elementary school so i could play together with my friends, and not just watch them run their cars in the field..
i managed to get this one, but that's after i graduated from elementary - sad story..
after 13 years, it's still with me and still fully functional...

this one is a Tamiya Fully Cowled Mini 4WD (four-wheel drive) car..
it's about 132mm in length..
this model is the Ray Stinger..
it uses a Super 1 chassis, but the original chassis got broken so i had to replace it with a fake chassis..
the tires were also replaced with fake ones..
i used the original chassis and tires to make a modified tora-tora..
the aluminum parts are products of Auldey...

this one is an absolute fake..
it's a Buster Sonic which uses a Super TZ chassis..
unlike most fake models, this one has a great set of slick tires so i decided to keep it...

i do not race anymore..
and i just keep these cars for display purposes...

Non-Star Wars - Mini-Transformers

and for today, here's another collection of mini-figures..
these are very cheap transformer units which only cost Php 10.00 each back then...

The Autobots in their vehicle (top) and robot form (bottom)..
the tanker truck on the top-leftmost is composed of 2 Autobot units as shown on the bottom left...

The Decepticons in their vehicle and robot form...

Support Units (the 2 on the left are for the Autobots, and the 2 on the right are for the Decepticons)..
they are not really part of the Transformers (or at least those 3 to the right), but i decided to include them since they're also mini-vehicles...

Non-Star Wars - Mini-Gundam

i guess i'll be featuring my other collections for the meantime..
and today, i'm going to show you my mini-Gundam collection..
i find them cute and a lot cheaper (very cheap actually) compared to actual Gundam model figures..

Gundam Force - Cross Worlds..
these are the heroes from different dimensions..

Gundam Force..
the unit in the rightmost section is unpainted, but i still decided to include it in the pictorial..

Gundam Elemental Knights..
the figure at the center lost its original head ornament so i replaced it with an improvised metallic material..

Samurai Gundam..
the paint used on the head ornament tends to fade (a similar painting material was used on 2 of the knight Gundam shown above) T,T..

 Zaku Army..
the villains..

Zaku Master (at the top center) with Fallen Gundam Trinity (one from the modern world, one from the medieval world, and one from the samurai world)..

Zaku Master with his Generals..

Zaku Master with his Ace Guards..

Zaku Gunners..

Gundam Destroyer..
it's not really a Gundam but a part of a different toy line which i'm not familiar with..
i thought it looks monstrous in form so i decided to include it in my story and collection..
it serves as the ultimate weapon of the Zaku Army..

these are not all that i have for my mini-Gundam set..
i still have some unpainted units, and because of that i decided not to include them in the pictorial...^_^
