Non-Match Furniture - Display Cabinet & an Ebay Update

these new recycled materials has been with me for a few weeks now..
and it was only yesterday that i find the time to take some photos of them...

so this is a clear plastic glass casing of the Marlboro Ice Blast which goes with a free lighter..
i was even surprised to know that it's actually cheaper than a regular pack of Marlboro..
by the way, i'm not a smoker, and my biological father just gave these to me..
let's see..
so i had this case inverted when i took this picture..
the cigarette pack is placed in the middle..
the bonus lighter is placed in the smaller portion (the one in the bottom for this picture)..
and the remaining partition (which is on top in this particular photo) has nothing inside it, it's just covered with a cardboard from the outside which contains the brand name of the cigarette...

display cabinet..
the first time i saw this type of cigarette casing, i already know what i can use it for..
so i am planning to use them in an inverted orientation..
and as you can see in the picture above, it looks more like an ordinary tv shelf at home instead of a futuristic display cabinet..
you can put some random display items on the top part (5 Clone Trooper helmets for example ^_^)..
a large monitor in the middle..
and probably a dvd player and some cd rack at the bottom..
haha!

i like it because of the transparency effect of the plastic glass material..
it makes things look elegant and modern...

and you can also see in the picture a regular 3 & 3/4 inch scale ARC Trooper standing by the side..
just to provide a comparative view of their respective heights..
seems alright to me...^_^

here's a wider view..
now with 2 units of that cigarette casing...

glass platform or glass wall..
these are also part of the plastic glass cigarette casing..
these are the removable sliding covers..
and i think i can make use of them either as glass platforms or glass walls...

Ebay Update:

and just a little update about my Ebay store..
well, i already managed to sell some of my stuff just last week, though it's not my Star Wars for sale items..
and it was a great experience..
all the bidding, the arrangement, and especially the postage thing..
it's a good thing that everything went smoothly, and so i was able to satisfy my very first ebay client...^_^

good luck with me!
hope to have more selling transactions in the future...^_^

Match Furniture - Plates (Model 02)

here's a little update regarding my match furniture project, which is an experimental part of my diorama project..
it is still in the experimental stage since there's really a lot of factors to consider, like the: durability of the material over time, wood-eating insects (or infestation), and what paint to use on them...

since i have been accumulating a lot of used matchsticks for the past few weeks..
i decided that i should come up with some new model(s)..
and i thought of creating a new plate design..
coz the plates (model 01 or simply 'plates') looks too simple...

and here's what i came up with..
i made these during the early part of April...

plates (model 02)..
unlike the basic or the first model, this type has spaces in between each stick..
each space being as broad or as thick as a single matchstick..
they're quite tricky to produce, coz only the tips are being glued for most part..
i make use of heavy materials with straight edges as guide, just to make sure that each side of the plate would also be straight (90 degrees for every corner)..
plus, while gluing, i need to temporarily put matchsticks in place of those spaces, to come up with spaces of almost the same sizes and also to keep the sticks in the inner side of the plate straight while still waiting for the glue to dry...

i think i can make use of some of these as air vent...

The Long Box

well, still no update here regarding my collection..
besides, i haven't sold anything from my ebay store yet.. (poor me) T,T
so i don't have extra money to buy miscellaneous units...

anyway..
here's a new box that i made last March 21 (if i'm not mistaken)..
i decided to throw out some old college books from my cabinet, to make some space for more Star Wars action figures...

i call it a long box, coz it's quite long..>,<
just like my other custom and handmade boxes, this is made out of illustration board material..
the black (or colored) side of the illustration board has a tendency of losing its color and staining anything that gets near it and of course we wouldn't want it to ruin the color of our beloved toy collection (especially the troopers' white armor >,<), so to avoid that i always cover the interior (the base, the sides, and even the top) of the box with plain, white typewriting paper..
this has a dimension of 7 x 11 x 5(height) inches..
and it can hold up to more than 50 Star Wars 3 & 3/4 inch action figures of the average size..
but this box is not yet complete..
i still need to look for a Star Wars logo (preferably one from the blue or red Legacy Collection), a Hasbro logo, and maybe a bar code, so it can look like my very first starbox...

boxes are quite useful for me..
because i'm not the type of collector who would just let the action figure rest inside their packaging for eternity and accumulate monetary value..
every time i buy a new unit, i'm always excited to take it out from its packaging..
i wipe or brush them (coz sometimes even if they are sealed they still accumulate some dirt), i check for paint job error(s) (which i think is just normal for mass-produced toys), and i also check if their points of articulation are working fine or are in perfect fit (which can sometimes lead to a disaster, in my case, i broke the hands of 2 of my AT-RT Drivers in the process of inspecting them, i managed to glue them back but i'll never turn those hands again coz i'm afraid that i might break them again)..
after the inspection and after each pictorial, that is when i need my boxes, so i can re-store my units to protect them from dirt and from fading until the time when they finally have a decent gallery...

March 2013 Update - Awesome Nightsister Deal

yesterday, March 18, i received my latest Star Wars items..
i'm still preparing for the release of the latest Padme, so i only bought 2 units for the meantime..
my package was delivered by Air 21..
i'm not sure about my last Air21 delivery, but this time - the SMS update was there again, and i really appreciate that a lot..
they tell you when your package is about to be delivered, and they even remind you to be there at your posting address during that target date, or have an authorized representative to receive the package for you..^_^
it was sent during a Saturday, and took a little more than 2 days to complete the delivery (since they operate on a scheduled basis)..
anyway, i think they're still better compared to another courier service provider...

i bought it from a very good seller (and collector as well)..
they are known as Kramer Toy Warden..
they sell collectible stuff through ebay, Facebook, and also in their toy shop (or shops, haven't checked it out though since i usually order my toys online)..
what i especially like about them is that they can sell collectible items at very low prices..
sometimes they even offer 'out of this world' promos..^_^
they are definitely one of the best online sellers in the Philippines..
not to mention that they are very kind, considerate, and trustworthy..
you can even make your orders via SMS or Facebook without any worry..
those are the reasons why i highly recommend them..
if you're interested to check out their store, below is a link to their Facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/Kramertoywarden

now let's go on with my new toys...

NIGHTSISTERS:

Nightsister..
from the planet of Dathomiri..
Nightsisters were a sect of the Witches who embraced the use of dark arts within their Force-driven Magicks..
they were originally members of other witch clans who began to utilize the dark side, they focused extensively on the art of casting Force illusions, and Witches found guilty of practicing these heretical techniques were banished into Dathomir's wilderness and left for dead..
originally founded by the exiled witch Gethzerion, who united the wandering outcasts to form a new clan..
during the Clone Wars, Mother Talzin transformed her people into a mercenary society that trained in combat and Magick so that they can offer their services as bodyguards, assassins, and soldiers..
one of their famous members being Asajj Ventress...

she's my very first animated (Clone Wars-based) action figure..
i got her as a loose figure, but that's okay coz it saved me a lot of money compared to purchasing the entire Darth Maul Returns set..
it also saved me from the task of disposing unnecessary units..
i bought her, coz i find her skull-like makeup cool, plus the red feathery outfit..
she may look a bit scary but she's actually sexy, especially the way her legs are bandaged..
and i think she can blend well together with my non-animated collections..
now i can't wait to pair her with Darth Nihilus..
she's quite tall, almost as tall as TVC's Aayla Secura..
she closely resembles Mother Talzin from the Clone Wars era, but i don't think it's her..
i'm going to make their clan allies with the Confederation of Independent Systems, just like in the animated series..
another target brought down from my WishList Page...^_^

REBEL ALLIANCE:

Rebel Pilot (Mon Calamari)..
a Mon Calamari who pilots an A-Wing Starfighter for the Rebel Alliance...

here's a comparative view of a Mon Calamari Officer and a Mon Calamari Pilot..
the pilot's skin is a lot darker in color..
it may not be so clear in this picture, but the colored patterns in their bodies are also different from one another..
and in the bottom picture, you can see the difference between the size of their heads, and the orientation of their eyes, as well as the difference in their helmets...

here's another great deal that lessened my collections overall cost...^_^

Store Update 01

it has been almost 3 months now since i got my license to sell items on ebay..
but i haven't sold anything yet as of this moment...T,T

this is my latest box - the Hasbro Toys box..
as you can see, i made some improvement to it (if you can call it that way)..
two sides of this box was damaged when i received it (not from Hasbro, but from a local toy shop)..
so i covered the damaged area with some typewriting paper..
then i cut out different Star Wars logos from some vintage collection items which i opened..
and there it goes..

it is where i keep all my items that are meant for sale..
currently i have 6 items on my ebay list..
a loose item, some MOC, and some Copic Multiliner pens...

i even made a YouTube video to promote it:

Copic multiliner pens & some Star Wars action figures from the Vintage Collection (2012) plus a loose figure from the Saga Collection are for sale..
these are for sale ONLY within the Philippines..
coz i still don't know how to deal with the Customs...

just read the description on YouTube and Ebay for more details...

Edit

there's not much update, since i'm still waiting for the latest Padme Amidala release...

i'm just editing my blog today..
adding some color..
and creating additional tags so i can categorize my units better...
