Montowers: No Cheat Game Guide #2

Content Warning: This game guide contains images with infrequent/mild sexual content and implied nudity and may not be appropriate for very young audiences.. iTunes has rated it as Rated 12+, so i advice that the viewers/readers only view this entry if you are of the right age already... :)

here's another English entry, hurray! :D
well, let's see..
i'm not yet completely done with the first MonTowers game (and i'm already hooked with its online version - MonTowers2)..
but i think i've already accomplished all my goals there..
so i'm already posting my final (additional) guide and/or observations for this game...

Note (again): The images that you will see in this particular blog entry are combination of my own screenshots from the game, and some which i got from some website even before i installed a screenshot app to my tablet (sorry, i forgot where exactly).. i don't own any copyrights for these materials.. and i'm just trying to share my game experience to those who'd be interested...

Most of the featured monsters are in their Master Form (unless i specify some other Form)...

Mix/Recipe Monsters:

Demonican

i'm not very sure yet as of the moment (for i still haven't caught every Mix Monsters out there, i still have one running wild out there T,T)
but what i can say is that the Demonican is a very reliable ally..
with very high attack power, HP, and Super Regen..
plus the 50% Attack Bonus and 50% HP Bonus
she'll be a great asset in taming the other wild monsters out there in the game..
so save those Tokens and wish that you'd get her Recipe early, and also work on catching her ingredient monsters (Silver Dragon & Arc Angel)...

---o0o---

Capturing Rare Monsters (Legend, Unique Mini-Boss, & Unique Boss):

okay..
i won't say that the following numbers will be very accurate..
but i'll provide some idea on when a hunter would probably catch a rare monster (these figures are strictly based on my own experience)..
at first i actually thought that there was a pattern on the catch rate for Unique monsters..
but upon checking on it again, it doesn't seem to be the case..
the more obvious observation would be, that it seem to get tougher and the catch rate decreases from the simplest to the hardest tower...

Succubus
i caught her after approximately 837 kills

Necromancer
i caught her after approximately 282 kills
(as you can see in this particular statistics, it took me less number of kills to catch her despite being in a higher level Tower compared to the Succubus)

Vampire
i caught her after approximately 455 kills

Giant Lord
i caught her after approximately 1628 kills

Silver Golem
(Legend/Legendary Monster)
i caught her after approximately 493 kills

Elemental Lord
i caught her after approximately 631 kills

Seraphim
(Legend/Legendary Monster)
i caught her after approximately 49 kills

Badhdh Cath (Master Form)
i caught her after approximately 1832 kills

Badhdh Cath (Elder Form)
just showing my preferred Badhdh Cath form..
less revealing compared to her Master Form, but it looks better in my opinion.. :D
also, this lady here is a killer with her Accel ability, 70% Attack Bonus, & 60% HP Bonus (probably the reason why she's the game's ultimate boss)

---o0o---

More About Abilities/Skills & Battling:

here are some additional information regarding abilities and battling, specially about dealing with multiple or mass damage..

- the enemy's HP is dependent or proportional to the number of monsters in your party - the fewer the monsters in your own party, the lesser the enemy's HP, and vice versa
- the amount of HP regenerated by the skill Regen or Super Regen is dependent on a monster's total HP

- the Critical ability (which is a default ability for all the monsters in the game) can do multiple or mass damage against your party members.. so in order for your monsters to stay safe, always calculate for 2 times your enemy's basic damage and keep your monsters' HP above that level
- the Critical ability or skill which appears for some monsters in the game, the one with the skill icon, (in my own assumption) provides a higher rate of doing Critical damage compared to the basic/default Critical skill for the rest of the monsters

- it's hard to tell if the enemy's Fury attack can do multiple or mass damage against your party because of the default Critical skill (which has almost the same effect as Fury)
- when dealing with enemies with Fury ability, use the target gauge against them.. try not to lower their HP to less than 50% by intentionally missing the gauge (this will make your damage against the enemy lower than your usual), and when their near to their death that's when you unleash your full force by hitting the gauge on the mark

- i think Accel is only applicable against one monster, and i haven't seen any enemy perform a multiple-Accel attack against my party members

- i haven't seen Soul (either 20% or 30%) do multiple damage, probably because it is not fixed and is dependent on your monster's current HP

Summon-Upgrade-Unsummon Token Harvesting Method:

i've already discussed about this in my previous blog post:
https://jedisandsiths.blogspot.com/2020/06/montowers-no-cheat-game-guide-1.html
but here are some additional tips..
(again, this is a no-cheat and no-money-spent gameplay)...

as you can see, Tokens are very useful in this type of game..
coz basically, you won't be able to complete your monster collection without having to spend a single Token..
they are especially useful in collecting Tiana's costumes and for completing the recipes and Mix Monsters list which is entirely composed of Unique monsters...

my simple additional tip for this particular method of harvesting Tokens is to find the right timing..
there are many times that you'd find yourself rewarded by a Token just by unsummoning a monster from its Elder Form just by counting..
it may be tricky though, for the timing may change from time to time or for each harvesting session..
use a counting method (like me, i use a counting method which is based on 3 or 4 or 5)...

it goes like this..
- first you'll have to summon some basic monsters..
in my case, i only use the first 5 from the Novice Tower (Zombie, Cat Woman, Kobolt, Fairy, Fire Elemental)..
i only have 3 available slots in my party, so usually i just use the Fairy, Kobolt, and Cat Woman..
i use the Fire Elemental whenever it's about time to fully regenerate my Gem Stones, and i barely use the Zombie because it has a very high chance of just reproducing 2 Soul Gems..
- next, is use your Gem Stones to upgrade them to Elder Form..
- after the upgrade is complete, unsummon these monsters..
(here's where/when the counting method takes place)..
upon hitting the unsummon button, start counting 1 to 3, or 1 to 4, or 1 to 5 based on your preference..
perform some extra chant (like shaking your finger first) before hitting the final or verification button needed to unsummon your monster..
once you've find your 'right' timing, then it's more likely to work on your next try (it may not work always, but it'll work most the time)...

---o0o---

and here are my other favorite monsters from the game:

Nymph

Mummy

Dark Priest

Mermaid Warrior (Elder Form)

Frost Giant

Valkyrie

Dark Elf Priest

Djinni

Medusa

Efreet

Mermaid Princess

Marid

Fallen Bishop

Astaroth

 Archmage

Dark Elf Queen

Vampire Lord

Rusalka

and so there it goes..
i hope my final review/guide might be helpful to other MonTower gamers out there..
good luck!
and next time, i'll post some basic guide for the even better, more exciting, and sexier MonTowers2... :)

Montowers: No Cheat Game Guide #1

MONTOWERS GAME GUIDE

Note: Almost all the images (except for that of Tiana) that you will see in this particular blog entry are my own screenshots from the game (both edited and not).. i don't own any copyrights though, i'm just trying to explain...

the following is a 'no-hack' and 'no money involved' guide to the MonTowers gaming environment..
i'm not so sure now, but i believe i have the version 1.4.0.3 of the game..
to be more accurate, it's where the Boss Badhdh Cath is already available in the Chaos Tower, and also, it is where the Attack (ATK) and Hit Points (HP) data of the enemies are no longer accurate...

Tiana here, as well as the game's Help Section already provides the explanation for the basics of the game..
so i'll only be discussing a little more advanced aspects based on my own gaming experience and point of view...

i'm not yet done with the current version of this game..
but here are some tips to help the other Montower Gamers to get along it.. ^_^
again, this is a 'no-hack' guide, so don't expect any cheating tips from me...

---o0o---

Summoning:

as a Summoner, summoning is the only way you can have Monsters to fight on your side while exploring the various Towers of the game..
without doing so, you won't be able to initiate a fight inside the towers - thus;
  • you won't gain EXP Points (Experience Points) needed for you to level up
  • you won't get the chance to acquire Monster Coins needed to summon new and stronger monsters
  • and also, you won't be able to get bonus reward items like tokens or potions

there are 3 types of summoning in the game:
  • first is the Summon (Basic Summon) - which allows you to call for monster(s) at the expense of gems
  • second is the Gacha (Gachamon) - well it doesn't directly summon a monster on your Monster Slot, but instead it is a helpful tool in completing the game (i'll explain a bit more about this a little later).. NOTE: it costs 5 Tokens per try
  • third is the Mix (Mix Summon) - this is something which you won't be doing often.. it only applies for those monsters from the Special Page (for now there's just 20 of them) which you haven't caught yet, meaning you still haven't acquired their Monster Coins (i'll also explain more about this later)

Gachamon or Gacha >

if you're interested in completing the game, then this is a MUST for you..
like i said earlier, it won't directly summon a monster on your Monster Slot..
but instead you can get a load of interesting items from here in exchange for tokens:
  • Monster Coins (from Rare, Legend, & Unique Category), but do NOTE that all the Monster Coins inside the game can be captured just by engaging in battle
  • Recipe
  • Tiana's Costumes

Mix Summon >

like i said earlier, it only works for those monsters on the Special Page..
although those monsters are labeled as 'Unique' just like all the Boss Monsters in the game, you won't be able to meet them in any of the tower - thus you won't be able to battle them and get their Monster Coin (unless Tiana gives them to you as a reward for something):
  • so to be able to get their Monster Coins, first you'll need to get their Recipes.. once you've obtained a certain Recipe, it will appear in the Mix Summon List..
  • then you'll need to Basic Summon the 2 monsters as indicated in the Recipe (you don't necessarily need to upgrade the 'ingredient' monsters, but if you are to do a Mix Summon, always prepare 3 Monster Slots on your Lab - 2 for the 'ingredients' and 1 for the resulting monster)..
  • after the 2 'ingredients' have been completely summoned, the resulting monster on the Mix Summon List will be ready for summon..
  • just hit the summon button, the 2 'ingredient' monsters will disappear from their respective Monster Slot, and the resulting monster will begin its own countdown.. by this time you won't need any Gem Stone to call for that Special Monster, although you will need them to summon its ingredients..
  • after the resulting monster has been completely summoned, that's the only time that its Monster Coin would be available in the Special Page.. after each successful Mix Summon, you'll need to do a Basic Summon using the Monster Coin if you want to call for a Special Monster again in the future...

you CANNOT summon the same monster when one already exists on one of your Monster Slots...

Gems & Energy >

both Gems and Energy are required for summoning..

Gems are directly required to do a summon..
it is also an alternative requirement (the easier to get) used for upgrading monsters which have already been summoned in Monster Slots..

Note: total Gem count can be affected by a game glitch.. sometimes after a crash, there are occasions wherein the Gems which are supposedly used up already are restored to their former count prior to the crash...

Energy on the other hand is needed to harvest the Gems or Gem Stones..
Energy is automatically restored over time, 1 for every 3 minutes (except during Fever Time, when the required time is cut to a half)..
the Maximum Energy Capacity is increased as you level up (by 10, like when you reach level 10, 20, 30 and so on).. the amount of increase depends on your level (i think i used to get an increase of 5, but after reaching Level 70 the increase went down to ONLY 2)..

my tip here, is that if you are a dedicated gamer, then maximize the use of those Energy..
don't let your Energy Meter get full, visit your Field as often as your Maximum Energy Capacity dictates you (me for example, i am already at Level 75, i have a maximum of 32 Energy on my meter, so during the day i visit my game every 1:30 hour just to make sure it won't get full)

Note: like Gems, total Energy count can be affected by a game glitch.. sometimes after a crash, there are occasions wherein the Energy which are supposedly used up already are restored to maximum capacity...

---o0o---

Level Up:

as you level up, your monsters also get stronger..
it's like your monsters level up with you..
it's because of the Level Bonus given to each of your monsters, which is dependent on your own level as a Summoner..
it provides an increase for both HP (Hit Points) and ATK (Attack Points) for your summoned monsters..
although the amount of Level Bonus is the same for all summoned monsters, the percentage increase for HP and ATK that it will give to your monsters will vary depending on each monster (i'm not really sure yet how it is decided by the game system)..
as of now i have seen bonuses ranging from 0% to 75%, and the increase for HP is not necessarily equivalent to the increase in ATK..
also, these Bonuses cannot be immediately seen for unsummoned monsters, so it's hard to tell which monsters benefit more from your current Level.. it only takes effect after a monster has been completely summoned, or after it has complete an upgrade..

leveling up is usually dependent on EXP (Experience Points) which you gain from winning your battles..
though summoning monsters also gives you some additional EXP..

it is necessary for you to level up, because the stronger you get - the better your chances for defeating higher level monsters, thus the better your chances for conquering all the Towers..
also, the stronger you get - the easier and faster for you to kill monsters.. faster 'kills' means faster chance to get a monster's Monster Coin (not to mention the reward EXP, Tokens, & Potions that you can get for every kill)..

Upgrading >

upgrading not only helps in increasing your monsters HP and ATK points, it can also unlock Special Abilities (i'll discuss about these later) which can be very helpful during combat..

an upgrade costs a certain amount of Token, or alternatively a certain amount of Gem depending on the:
  • Tower where a particular monster (its Normal form) can be found (except for Special Monsters, though it is somehow dependent on where a particular Special Monster's 'Ingredients' can be found)
  • its rarity or capture level (whether it is Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legend, Unique, or Special Unique)

my tip, is to never use your Tokens for this process.. it is always easier to acquire Gems, so just use those instead..

another tip is that, always upgrade your monsters up to their Master form, it will not only make them look cooler or tougher (for male monsters) & sexier (for female monsters), but it will also bring your monsters to their full battle potentials...

---o0o---

Skills or Special Abilities:

here i'll try to explain the skills which for me is the most efficient (in a fair and no-money-involved game)..

Offensive Skills >

these are skills used for attacking, thus they reduce the enemy's HP:

Accel..
i find this the most useful offensive skill..
it doesn't double the value of your monster's attack, but it allows your monster to attack twice - so it's also like doubling your damage in a way (just like Fury and Critical)..
it is chance-dependent though (just like most skill), but unlike Critical, there is no sure-defense against Accel..
Dodge is the only thing that can beat it and it is also chance-dependent..
also, an Accel attack can't do a Critical damage..

Fury..
this is the only offensive skill which is not chance-dependent - meaning it would work 100% once it has been activated..
Fury allows the monster to double the value of its attack (sounds very powerful, right?), but before that can be achieved - that monster's HP should be equal or below 50% of its maximum value..
and that's the problem with this skill, coz it brings the monster to a critical point..
(for example, if i have a Fury monster with 60,000+ HP.. it would be able to unleash its Fury when it hits 30,000 or below HP.. it does sound kinda safe.. but the truth is, most of the time when you already reached that kind of level, you're probably near the end of the game and have already caught most of the monsters.. so by that time you probably just need to deal with the more powerful monsters, like in the Chaos Tower.. and in the Chaos Tower, Fury is like meaningless to the monsters' very high HP, and that 30,000 Fury-ready-HP can be taken down by their powerful attacks after just 2 rounds)..
Super Regen and the more preferable Regen may sound like a good solution to this problem, but most of the time they just bring your monster's HP to above 50% and just alters the Fury effect..
Potion is a more dangerous solution, coz it restores more HP compared to Super Regen and Regen, so it will surely ruin the Fury effect..
plus, whenever your monsters are not doing battle, their HP automatically regenerates, so that's another negative point for Fury..

on another note, about figthing against Fury type monsters..
this is how to lessen the damage that your monsters will accumulate from such a match..
(this will only work well if you can kill that monster within 2 rounds)..
  • during the first round of attacks, you should purposely miss the Target Gauge, thus allowing your enemy to attack first without the benefit of its Fury.. you'll get less or NO damage if you're lucky enough.. and when it's your turn to attack, you can bring down its HP to half
  • on the second round, that's when you should hit the Target Gauge right on the spot so you can attack first, so you can dispose of the Fury Monster for good..

Critical..
by default every monster can do a Critical Hit..
like Fury, it is an attack that doubles the power of your monster's ATK..
like Accel it is chance-dependent, but having it as a skill provides the monster with x2 of the default chance of doing it..
the problem with Critical (both Default & Skill) is that it can be blocked by Iron Skin, and it is a 100% win for Iron Skin..
Dodge is another skill that can beat it..

Soul 20% & Soul 30%..
Soul is a very powerful skill, and it is very useful against enemies with very high HP..
a successful Soul attack can take away a percentage of an enemy monster's current HP, 20% and 30% depending on the type of Soul skill your monster has..
these are chance-dependent skills, and can be beaten by Dodge..
the only problem about it is when your monster does Soul and the damage is already below that monster's normal ATK..

Tip: always use a monster with Soul 30% for maximum Soul Damage..
only use one Soul-type monster on your team during battle, and always put it in the first attacker's position for more efficiency...

Defensive Skills >

these skills on the other hand prevent or alter deductions made by the enemy to your own monsters' HP:

Super Regen & Regen..
they work like a defensive skill, because after each round they automatically restore a fixed portion of the monster's HP..
of course, Super Regen is always better compared to Regen in terms of the HP percentage they can restore..
they don't have any weakness..
and they are very helpful in conserving your Potions..

Tip: always go for Super Regen instead of just Regen if possible.. well of course that would depend on a monster's complete set of skills..

Iron Skin..
it is very helpful and the perfect protection against Critical (like i said earlier, for both Default and Skill)..
only Accel, Fury, and Normal attack can ignore it...

Dodge..
like Critical, by default every monster has a chance to Dodge..
so i guess the Skill increases that chance to 20% (as stated in its description)..
its weakness is that it is chance-dependent unlike the other defensive skills...

in addition to these skills, enemies have Special Abilities which ONLY THEY can use..
such are Mass Attack and Mass Defense with varying levels (coz a 3-versus-1 battle does seem unfair)..

for my suggested Battle Skill Set..
try to use monsters with:
  • 1st Attacker: Soul 30% | Super Regen | Dodge/Iron Skin (ONLY if necessary)
  • 2nd Attacker: Accel | Super Regen | Dodge/Iron Skin
  • 3rd Attacker: Accel | Super Regen | Dodge/Iron Skin

---o0o---

Vital Items:

you won't be able to survive the entire game without these...

Tokens >

Token is the most useful item in the MonTower's world..
it can:
  • shorten the summoning time of monsters
  • for upgrading monsters
  • for shortening the upgrade time of monsters
  • for doing the Gachamon (which in itself is very useful as well)
  • for unlocking Monster Slots
  • for restoring Energy
  • for buying Potions

the easiest way to get Tokens (aside from hacking and buying them using real money):
  • Battles - it gives you a chance to get Token(s) as reward.. the higher the rank of the Tower - the more Token you can get from battles.. as a bonus from doing battles, you also get to level up and get other items like Monster Coins and Potions

  • Summon-Upgrade-Unsummon - this is an easier method but it is dependent on Energy recovery period
  • Quests - fulfill quests given by Tiana, most of them offer Token(s) as reward.. the number of quest is limited though, and are mostly just available during the earlier part of the game
  • Level Up - i'm not sure now about the lower levels, but i got a bonus of 5 Tokens by leveling up from Level 76 to 77
  • Beat the Towers - i'm not so sure now coz i'm already done with these, but i think beating each tower for the first time can provide Token bonus (or is it as part of a quest (-.-)?? )

How to Summon-Upgrade-Unsummon:
  • first, you should summon monsters which only cost a few Gems (preferably, any of the first row Common monsters from the Novice Tower)
  • second step is to upgrade them
  • third and last step is to unsummon the upgraded monsters.. the process will reward you with Gem(s), Potion(s), or Token(s) depending on how far you have upgraded your monster
  • for monsters who have reached the Elder form, the output probability is divided into 3; 33% chance of getting back Gem Stone(s), 33% chance of getting Potion(s), or 33% chance of getting Token(s) (amount of Potion and Token depends on the rank or Tower where you get the Normal form of a particular monster) (i prefer this method because i can summon-upgrade-unsummon more monsters)
  • for monsters who have reached the Master form, the output probability is divided into 2 ONLY; that is 50% chance of getting a Potion, and 50% chance of getting a Token

Tip: Only use your Tokens for doing Gachamon, that is after you have purchased your typical number of Monster Slots...

Potions >

Potions are very useful during battles, especially for the hard ones..
it assures you that your team won't get wiped out, so you won't need Time and Gems to summon and upgrade them to Master form once again..

like Tokens you can acquire this stuff from doing Battles, Quests, and doing the Summon-Upgrade-Unsummon method..
you also get regular Potion bonus after each level up (e.g. i get 10 bonus Potions after leveling up from Level 76 to 77)...

Tip: collect Potions (around 50 to 100) before climbing Towers which are hard to beat, or before hunting for rare monsters like the Badhdh Cath..
also conserve Potions before you let yourself hit the Fever Time, coz it will help you maximize the use of that precious time...

---o0o---

Fever Time:

it is explained in the game that you get to enter this 30 minute period after each of your level up (that is after beating a certain level)..
during this time your monsters (in battle) will get additional damage and additional HP recovery if they have recovery skills...

Tip: maximize the use of Fever Time by climbing levels of Towers which you haven't beat yet, or by hunting for stronger monsters.. Fever Time will surely help you fulfill those missions easily...

hope this guide helps other MonTower Gamers out there..
and, next time i'll discuss more about Hunting and completing your Monsters List... ^_^

here's a screenshot of my current high-level-hunting team (meaning the team which i use to hunt for stronger monsters)..
my Light Archon, Rusalka (since the enemy doesn't have an Iron Skin), and Demonican versus the current Final Boss, the Badhdh Cath...
